“My wish for the party is to win the next General Election!”

I started volunteering with WP in 3rd quarter of 2010 after I retired in July 2010. I help out with welfare and social events within the Serangoon division.

I enjoy volunteering with WP because the events created allow the residents to build and improve neighbourhood relationships, and bonds the community.

The reason I volunteer with WP is because the MPs are friendly and approachable.

My most unforgettable moment volunteering with WP so far was during the Hainan trip back in October 2015, where one of our residents lost both his and his wife’s passports at the airport upon returning home! The airport staff were alerted and conducted a search but the passports could not be found. Finally, just before we boarded the plane I shouted, “Did anyone pick up two passports?” Good thing I asked, because it turned out an uncle in the queue had it all along and was waiting for someone to ask him!

Now that WP turns 60 this year, my wish for the party is… to win the next General Election!
