“I think it’s time for my generation to step up and take on more responsibilities.”

What is your most memorable experience thus far?

The night we heard the results of the Punggol East by-election at Hougang. The atmosphere was electric. It made me realise that people do want an alternative voice in Parliament, that WP’s influence is not only limited to Hougang.

You started out as a volunteer, then became a member and now you’re in the Youth Wing Exco. What keeps you going?

I think it’s time for my generation to step up and take on more responsibilities. The older members have done their part and are getting on in years. We have to step up.

What do you consider to be your most significant contribution to the party?

I can’t say what’s the most significant, but I love doing daily tours with the residents. A simple thank you from them at the end of the tour means a lot, makes me feel like what we do is worthwhile.
