The Workers' Party held its Special Cadre Members' Conference today. Cadre members voted to retain Mr Pritam Singh as Secretary-General.

The Workers' Party held its Special Cadre Members' Conference (Special CMC) today, following a requisition by 25 cadre members. The conference was chaired by Mr Gerald Giam.

Party Secretary-General Pritam Singh provided an account to cadre members on the High Court judgment dated 4 December 2025. Various cadre members gave their views and raised questions, which Mr Singh responded to, before a secret vote was taken by cadres to decide whether Mr Singh was to continue in his role as Secretary-General or to step down.

Cadre members voted to retain Mr Pritam Singh as Secretary-General. This decision reflects the considered judgment of the Party's cadres, and the Party’s commitment to democratic principles and due process. A new Central Executive Committee was subsequently elected at the Ordinary Cadre Members' Conference, resolving key leadership questions and establishing a clear, democratic mandate for the ensuing term.

The Party is united behind its leadership and remains fully focused on its work for all Singaporeans, in Parliament and on the ground. We continue the work of building a more balanced political system for Singapore.
