Biography
Kong Soon is Deputy Organising Secretary of the Workers' Party and drives operations, logistics and planning of outreach activities. He served in the same position during his 2016-2018, 2022-2024, 2024-2026 CEC stints, and was a six-time Election Agent in past Singapore General Elections. He was former Legislative Assistant to Mr Low Thia Khiang from 2013-2017 and Youth Wing Vice-President from 2012-2016.
Having joined the Party in 2007, Kong Soon believes in the need to build a vibrant democratic society with credible political alternatives. He enjoys interacting with and serving constituents alongside like-minded party members and volunteers. Born to a working class family, he was fortunate to be put through the Singapore education system, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (Merit) and thereafter a Master in Mass Communication.
Professionally, Kong Soon has over two decades of experience in higher education sector across student development, alumni engagement, and community outreach. In his free time outside of work and politics, he is an avid marathoner and football fan. A lifelong supporter of Liverpool Football Club, he embodies the club's motto, 'You'll never walk alone,' in all his endeavours.
