Sir, the basis of this cut is to request for greater synergy and co-planning with the HDB about its plans to upgrade existing carparks in AHPETC town. While I appreciate the assistance provided by HDB branch staff to Town Council officers, more information can be shared to allow the Town Council to better plan the extent of repair works, better determine the timing of works and to coincide works with other R&R works so as to minimise disruption to residents. For example, in a reply to a query about the cyclical repair schedule for HDB car parks at Kaki Bukit, Eunos and Bedok Reservoir wards, HDB replied that most have been upgraded with the remaining car parks scheduled to be upgraded progressively from “2017 to 2021.” However, the Town Council will benefit from information such as which car parks would be upgraded rather than a blanket answer which does not assist the Town Council in its planning purposes and planning future expenditure.
